How we count "specialists" — Integrated Dentistry counts as 0.2

Korea's Integrated Dentistry specialty was created in 2019, and a large share of holders received it through a transitional provision granted to existing practitioners — about half of all Korean dental specialists hold this title (Ministry of Health and Welfare, Apr 2025). Public data does not mark who completed a residency and who qualified through the transitional route, so we do not judge individual dentists. Instead we weight by subject: residency-trained fields (prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry) count as 1.0 per specialist, Integrated Dentistry counts as 0.2. Treatment pages list only clinics registered with the matching field specialty.
